from a friend of mine with a showcar TT who was moving and didnt want to move it.i got it for $100...its complete except for the plenum(he just wanted the plenum off of it to get it polished).everything was good,except for a little wear on the main bearing.
i dismantled it,cataloged and labeled all the parts in ziplock bags.i checked with a trusted hotrod friend who owns a machine shop,for machining work and choice of pistons(9.0:1 JE),another friend who owns a muffler shop about a custom 3 inch exhaust,
so,while i have the time,im saving my money for the turbos,and doing my research as far as what clutch to buy.im paying attention to all the talk about intercoolers,recirculation valves and BOV's.
since your car is running,you could take the time to build the spare engine right...the way you want it.if you can find a block for dirt cheap,go ahead and get it.this is my first VG build so its like free schooling to me.
